Lilith knew this small little town. She’d visited the “good” people of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, several times in the past; they always were so willing to help her out when she asked.
Especially the Donnellsons. Poor Mr and Mrs Donnellson. They really had no idea their sweet little innocent Michelle wasn’t so sweet. Or innocent. Well, they had no idea up until the point she killed Tiger and, hands still bloody, slit their throats.
That was a big enough clue, really, that Michelle Donnellson wasn’t “home” anymore.
Little Michelle looked up at Lilith, her eyes slitting over to black. Lilith nodded and smiled down at the young demon.
“You’ve done well,” she said, and the young demon smiled in return. ‘Michelle’ had always been one of her favorites, always so loyal, always so devoted to her. Lilith rather liked the feeling of such utter loyalty, if she said so herself.
“Now, I have just one more task for you,” she said, her mind instantly thinking of a particular Crossroads Demon and how … bothersome he had become of late.
